WAIPĀ

Aupuni Space is pleased to present WAIPĀ, a solo exhibition by O‘ahu born Kanaka Maoli artist Solomon Enos. This is Solomon’s second solo exhibition with the gallery. Last summer of 2018, Solomon spent time in residence at Waipā Foundation. Amazingly, this was Solomon’s first visit to Kauaʻi. Two strands of work emerged over the time spent painting, learning about and interacting with the Waipā ahupuaʻa. One based firmly in place and surroundings, representational portraits, still life and landscape; the other comes straight from Sol’s mind, abstract expressions of those same surroundings.
